HSHPE’s It Takes Heart Corporate Challenge raises $263,800
West City Honda's $100,000 Matching Campaign
Belleville – Local businesses have responded generously to a challenge put out by West City Honda to match its $100,000 donation to the It Takes Heart Capital Campaign to help build the new HSHPE Animal Care and Community Adoption Centre.
Started in March 2022, the Challenge has now surpassed it goal, with $163,800 being donated by local businesses. Combined with the $100,000 from West City Honda, the total raised in the It Takes Heart Corporate Challenge is $263,800.

Bay of Quinte MP Williams Visits New Centre
BELLEVILLE – Ryan Williams, MP for Bay of Quinte, dropped by Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward’s (HSHPE) new Animal Care and Community Education Centre yesterday afternoon, July 20, 2022, for a tour and to thank the community for their ongoing support of the project.
The HSHPE Centre, located at 34 Wallbridge-Loyalist Road in Belleville, is nearing completion, with animals and staff expected to move in late summer.
Williams was toured through the building by Marilyn Lawrie, HSHPE Executive Director. Lawrie pointed out many of the building’s special animal care features, like

Building Update
HSHPE Centre Construction Enters Final Phase
Belleville, Ontario – Construction on Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward’s Animal Care and Community Education Centre is progressing well and has now entered its final phase, with work being done on electrical and ventilation hook ups and interior finishes.
Construction on the 16,200 ft2 building began by TaskForce Engineering Inc. in July 2021. Located at 34 Wallbridge-Loyalist Road in Belleville, Ontario, the new HSHPE Centre will provide state-of-the-art facilities for the care of dogs, cats and small animals and support their
