Happy Tails 😻
Gator was adopted by one of our wonderful staff here at QHS and wanted to share his story with everyone. We are very thankful she opened her heart and home to him and gave him the loving place to heal and become the delightful boy he is today.
“I adopted Gator in June 2018. He came to QHS in very rough shape with a broken foot, an abscess on his leg, an eye ulcer and an infection so bad it had gone septic. He spent many months in foster care with me healing from his battles. It was clear he was definitely not meant to live outside! Now Gator spends his day lounging in the window, getting the zoomies, and being the perfect foster dad to the many kittens I foster for the shelter. He also loves spending his days hanging out in the catio and hanging out with his furry best friends!”
August 2020 Stats
During the month of August, we had 163 animals come into our care. We received 125 cats, 35 dogs, 1 Hamster, 1 Rat, and 1 Rabbit. We adopted out 51 cats and 4 dogs. We returned 5 cats and 13 dogs to their owners. We also transferred out 41 animals to other like minded shelters and rescue organizations. The rest of the animals will stay with us until they find their furever home.
QHS Update
We have been working hard to gear up for our virtual Waggle Walkathon sponsored by Pet Pawsitive’s Luxury Pet Resort! With great prizes to be won for participation, top walker an most liked videos, walkers can sign up on our website (https://walk.quintehumanesociety.com/) and collect pledge like previous years. This year walkers are encouraged to sniff out their own adventures wherever their nose may take them between Saturday, September 12th and September 19th. Walkers are encouraged to submit a short video of their walk adventures on our Facebook event page and the video with the most likes will receive a fabulous spa package from Little Stinkers! We are looking forward to seeing everyone’s videos of their adventures.
