Peanut has been in her furever home now for 3 years. She will be 4 years old in October. She is a happy dog who is very much loved by her family.

At the Quinte Humane Society we take in animals from the Quinte region, for a variety of different reasons. Peanut was surrendered to us in January 2016, at 3-months-old when she came down with parvo virus after having not been vaccinated. QHS stepped in and got her to a local vet. Peanut spent about a week in the care of the veterinarian where she was monitored closely and given IV fluids. Parvo virus can be deadly. Luckily for Peanut, she was able to get the necessary treatment in time to save her life.

Peanut was lucky and she recovered quickly from her illness. After a week, she was well enough to go up for adoption. Because of her age, she was unable to be spayed, so she went into our Foster to Adopt program. We had lots of interest in her, and after going through applications, the perfect home was chosen. They were so excited to take their new puppy home. She spent a month in foster care, and finally the day had come for her to be spayed. She was a happy, healthy puppy who was now fully vaccinated through our foster program. After her spay, the adoption was finalized and it was official, Peanut was in her furever home.
