Happy Tails ðŸ˜»

You may remember Ida, she was found wandering in a playground alone and a concerned citizen brought her to QHS. It was immediately noticed that her eyes were no longer functional. The veterinarian’s recommendation was that she have both eyes removed and we’re happy to report she healed beautifully and hasn’t missed a beat. Below is an update from her new mom!

“Just emailing to give an update on Ida. She has been home for a week and she walks around like she has been here for years. She always fills our days with lots of cuddles and playing and lots of laughs, lots of everything but sleep. She is always go go go spending her time enjoying all of her toys. She has won over everyone in the house with her confidence and loveable personality. She has decided that her favourite hiding place is behind a curtain where she happily sits and listens to everything around her.”

November Statistics

During the month of November, we saw 158 animals come through our doors. We welcomed 113 cats, 32 dogs,10 chickens, 2 rabbits and 1 rat.

We adopted out 51 cats, 4 dogs, 6 chickens and 4 hamsters. We were able to reunite 4 cats and 16 dogs with their families.

The QHS transferred 61 animals to like minded shelters and rescue organizations.

Pet Store Booths

The QHS recently held a fundraiser over the course of two weekends. We hosted a sales booth set up at Trenton Pet Valu, and Global Pet Foods Belleville. Items for sale included branded QHS clothing, glassware, and our signature Pawlicious Chocolate Bars. Thank you to anyone that stopped by to purchase items, or make a donation. This event proved very successful, raising $1196.66 for the animals currently in care! These tables were manned by QHS volunteers. A big thank you to everyone that donated time to this fundraiser!

Upcoming Events

Times are uncertain and many of our fundraisers have had to be cancelled, or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Here at QHS we have a team of innovative thinkers, and have implemented a new fundraiser “Paws to Recycle” our ongoing bottle drive. Beginning late June 2020, we have to date raised $8125.20 for the animals in care at the QHS. Thank you to everyone that has donated to our cause!
