Meet Becel!

Meet Becel! This handsome boy has been through a lot in his 2 years of life. Becel came into the care of HSHPE through animal control and was not claimed. As you can see by his appearance he has been in a few fights in the past but he is a lover, not a fighter!

Becel is FIV POSITIVE. He will need a yearly visit with a veterinarian to ensure that he remains healthy and can live his best indoor life. He is looking for a home that is committed to ensuring that he lives his life as healthy as possible. We ask potential adopters to do some research about FIV.

This sweet boy loves attention and affection from humans. He is very outgoing, always at the front of his cage waiting for it to be opened so he can enjoy a chin massage and some pets. Becel’s first love is food! He gets extremely excited about meals and can forget his manners at times. He will give a little nibble on your fingers to let you know he wants his food.

The best environment for Becel would be one where he can remain as an indoor-only cat. He would love to have a secure catio where he could enjoy outdoor time in a safe space. Becel loves people but would do best in a home that had older children and/or adults only. He must be the only cat in the home due to being FIV positive. He has seen a few dogs while being in the shelter and hasn’t been bothered by them. He would likely do just fine with a cat-savvy dog or a nice calm dog after having a proper slow introduction.

FIV cats can live long and happy lives, so please do not let his diagnosis deter you from considering him as a furever friend!
