Last Friday April 30, 2021 was National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day! The Quinte Humane Society partnered with Royale's- A Home for Every Pet Project to raise additional funds for the homeless animals of the Quinte Region. On Friday, Royale hosted a virtual donation drive for Humane Societies and Shelter partners across Canada! This initiative helped to raise awareness and secure funds for the over 100, 000 homeless animals awaiting adoption in Canadian animal shelters each year! Royale matched all donations made on Friday- up to $500.00. For those wondering how far $1000.00 goes in terms of animal care, below are some cost of care price points.
8 cats can be spayed for $1000
13 cats can be neutered for $1000
4 large dogs can be spayed for $1000
7 medium sized dogs can be neutered for $1000
$1000 will purchase 187 cat vaccines to be administered; this will ensure cats remain healthy while awaiting adoption!
$1000 will ensure 63 dogs receive core vaccines and an intranasal bordetella vaccine, to keep them healthy and adoptable!
$1000 Will provide 66 homeless cats 2 nutritious meals per day for a month!
$1000 Will provide 20 homeless dogs with 2 nutritious meals per day for a month!
We’re happy to report we surpassed our goal, and raised $1810.00 for the animals currently in care at the QHS.
Money raised will continue to help us house, and prepare many homeless animals for adoption! We’re eagerly awaiting the all clear to resume adoptions, and look forward to seeing you soon!
