Tune into CJBQ 800 AM to listen live on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:25 AM for Featured Pets and other great information about QHS proudly sponsored by CJBQ, the station that cares about community!
The QHS is thankful for the support of the community, as well as our many partners through the Region. Some of our affiliates include:
Little Stinkers Grooming Salon will take on emergency situations and provide much need relief to dogs that come into our care heavily matted and in desperate need of comfort.
PetSmart Belleville provides housing for select animals that are spayed/neutered and acts as a satellite adoption site for the QHS. We've held adopt-a-thons at this location, which allows even more cats to find their forever families!
Tropical Pet Gardens hosts our juvenile kittens who are too young to be spayed/neutered. Pre lockdown- potential adopters could visit Tropical for a meet and greet, and once new families have selected a new companion they would visit the QHS to complete the adoption.
Global Pet Foods Belleville has sponsored the QHS and has purchased all of our cat litter since November 2019, this easily equates to $3000.00 or more each year.
Trenton Pet Valu allows QHS to host events/sales booth at their location. In November and December 2020 we held a sales booth here, and at Global Pet Foods Belleville, and over the course of 2 weekends we raised nearly $1200 for the animals in care.
Rens Pets in Belleville has generously provided the QHS with vouchers for new adopters and foster parents. These vouchers can be used in store to purchase supplies for your new family member, or if you’re a foster parent, this voucher allows you to pick up some items for your temporary foster animal.
Many Veterinarians in the area offer discounted services for routine spay/neuter surgeries, and can often squeeze us in on short notice if an animal needs immediate care. They also offer advice and guidance at a moments notice.
Many Rescues offer help for hard to place animals. This would include animals with behavioural issues, extensive medical needs, long term residence that seem to continue to be overlooked for adoption. Many of these rescues operate out of Foster Homes which provides a calmer environment to animals with special needs. They arrange transport through many Volunteer Rescue Drivers.
The Quinte Humane Society is committed to providing the best care to the homeless animals of the Quinte Region, and we're supported by a team of professionals making this possible!
