Balto came into our care due to no fault of his own. He has taken time to warm up to staff and is still very wary of strangers. Balto is looking for a calm patient home that will be able to spend quality time with him to help bring him out of his shell and trust again. He forms a strong bond with humans he trusts. We anticipate him needing multiple meet and greets in order for him to feel comfortable going home with his new furever family. Once Balto opens up, he is a big loveable boy that loves attention and pets. He is a calm dog but can have a playful side, he especially loves to play fetch. Balto has great leash manners despite his extra-large stature. He has gotten used to being walked by a few of our regular dog walkers who have taken the time to get to know him and they have nothing but great things to say about him! He is good with docile female dogs only and has not been cat tested. Since Balto is still learning to trust, he would be suitable in a home with teens 15+ or adults only.
