Boots is an approximately 4-year-old male black cat. He has a small patch of white on his chest, and very handsome eyes. Boots came to us from a farm. We noticed right away that he had an abscess and after being shaved, it was noted that he had been attacked by something as he has many bite wounds. He is healed up now and done his antibiotics. Boots is slow to come around and will need a patient home that can take the time to show him what it is like to be an indoor cat. Sometimes Boots will hiss when he is scared. He will also spend some time hiding.  It will take time for him to get used to a new environment, so we expect in his new home that he will find a quiet place to hide until he is comfortable. All cats take time to adjust, some like Boots, just take more time than others. Boots does not like being picked up or carried around. Because he is scared, we are recommending that Boots go to a home with no children and no dogs, as both would likely be too much for him. He did not like the other cats here, especially males, but he may do okay with a quiet, fixed female after being introduced slowly and cautiously.  If you would like to meet Boots, he can be viewed at the shelter, 527 Avonlough Road, Belleville.

Cat Adoption fee of $140 includes; Spay/Neuter, first vaccination, general deworming, advantage if needed, microchip, four weeks of free trial pet insurance and a free exam at a local participating vet.
