On May 30th we arrived at the shelter to find a frightened rabbit boxed up and left at our front door. Sadly, this is not an uncommon occurrence. Affectionately named Fresca, this sweet girl settled in rather quickly to her new accommodations. Fresca is an American Rabbit and we estimate her to be approx. 2.5 years. She has been spayed since coming into our care, and recently spent time in a foster home as an opportunity to better know her personality. Here are some notes from Fresca’s foster mom:
“I come to you with an update about the sweet and lovable Fresca. She has blossomed into the most amazing girl. She is very social and loves jumping up in the couch at night for snuggles and scratches. She prefers to have an open for policy when it comes to her cage and is very well behaved when roaming free throughout the day (she sleeps in her kennel overnight) Fresca was rather timid at first but has opened up to the idea that people equal company, snacks and affection. She has become best friends with my cat and they enjoy taking afternoon naps together. Fresca loves the kids and has never nipped or shows any sign of fear or aggression while in their company.
She has honestly become the best rabbit I've ever known. Fresca will make an amazing companion for someone.
( I wish it were me because I have fallen in love with her!)
The only down side to her is she loves to eat books when you're reading (if you don't move the book quick enough) and has occasionally taken a nibble from my rubber boots.”
Fresca is sweet and soft, snuggly and has a sweet disposition. She is hoping to hop into her forever home very soon!
