Tune into CJBQ 800 AM to listen live on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:25 AM for Featured Pets and other great information about QHS proudly sponsored by CJBQ, the station that cares about community!
Jake is a 2-year-old male Labrador retriever/pointer mix. He has lived in a home and is house trained. He has not been crate trained, but with some work, would have no issues. He will need to be the only animal in the home, as he is very picky about the dogs that he likes, and he does not like cats at all. Because of his breed and age, Jake is a very high energy guy, and will need a home with lots of time to walk him and/or a fenced in yard where he can romp around and get out some of this energy. Jake loves playing fetch, it’s one of his favourite things to do with the volunteers & staff at the shelter. Jake would benefit from obedience training, and work with leash walking, as he can be a bit rude, and will jump up, as well as grab the leash. Our volunteers have been working on this, and he has already come a long way, but will need constant work until he really gets the hang of it. Because of his lack of manners, we are suggesting that he goes to a home with kids over the age of 12 years. If you think you may be a fit for Jake, please come in to the shelter to meet him, he’s been with us awhile now, and he would really like to meet his furever family.
