Meet Allegra!

Allegra came into the care of HSHPE as a stray and was not claimed. She is a very shy and nervous girl. She has spent some time in foster care learning to trust people. She will take some time to settle into her new home.

Once Allegra settles in and learns to trust her new family she will follow you around and chirp at you. She enjoys being pet but prefers not to be picked up. She feels safest when all 4 of her paws are firmly planted on the ground.

The way to Allegra’s heart is through her stomach. She LOVES food! She thinks it is very fun to chase her kibble all around the floor. Allegra has a very sensitive tummy and must remain on a digestive food. She is currently eating prescription Hill’s I/D.

Allegra loves other cats. The ideal home for her would be one with at least one other cat for her to play with. Having another cat in the home will also help her come out of her shell. She will need to have a slow and proper introduction. She may act a little sassy with a new cat at first, but she will settle in with her new friend and they will be cuddling and playing in no time!

When she is not playing with other cats, Allegra can be found chasing sparkle balls and ping pong balls around. These are her favourite type of toys. She can keep herself (and you!) entertained with her silly antics.

Given how skittish Allegra is, it is recommended that her new home be adult-only, or have older children (12 years +). At this time, she has not been tested with dogs.

Wish list: pate canned cat & kitten food, slip leads for the dogs, and rabbit enrichment items. We are also trying to get some new dog beds and cat towers for the new shelter. They can be donated through our link: https://shelterbeds.org/donate/402084
