Sweet & shy kitty seeks forever family!
Anjie came into the care of HSHPE in November as a stray who was not claimed. She is a stunning brown and orange torbie. Anjie's been living in foster care while waiting for her new home. When she came in, she was just a kitten. She is now over a year old and still waiting!
This shy girl has taken a very long time to warm up to humans, but she has come so far
! She loves to be around people and always wants to be a part of the excitement. She spends very little time hiding these days and will follow you around and rub on your legs.
Her new home should be prepared for her to spend the first little while hiding. Ideally, she would be able to settle in a quiet room of her very own. This will allow her time to get used to the sounds and smells of her new environment without having too much space to hide. Her new people can spend time with her in that room and allow her to get used to them as well. She can become overwhelmed in new environments, and this is a suggestion to help her integrate more easily.
Another feline friend 
in the home is a must as Anjie will make a great companion for another kitty. She does great being around other cats, and they help her with her confidence in a home. She can often be found playing and napping with her feline foster siblings. She is not suitable to live with dogs as they are too loud and scary for her liking. An adult-only home or a home with children over 14 years is what Anjie is looking for.
Anjie prefers to nap in higher-up places like windowsills or tall cat trees. She would love to have a cat tree or two to choose from. She loves food and treats, which has helped with her human interactions.
While Anjie loves to be out and about watching what the humans are doing, she is still warming up to being touched. She likes to be pet on her terms and will come to you for petting. When she wants to be pet, she really wants to be pet and if she doesn’t want attention she will just run away.
Patience is key with Anjie, but she is well worth the wait!
Wish list: PATE canned cat & kitten food, enrichment items (toys etc.) for dogs, cats, and small animals and 45L & 135L garbage bags.
