Meet Chase!

Chase came into the care of HSHPE due to no fault of his own. This friendly boy is searching for his new best friend and furever home. If you’ve been looking for a dog full of love and affection, he’s your boy!

At 11 months old, Chase is still a puppy and you can see it in his behaviour. He is very excitable and could use some basic obedience training. He does know come, leave it and off, although he seems to be a bit rusty with off, as he gets excited to see you and jump on you. He likes treats a lot and will sit for a treat as well. He is both house and crate trained.

Chase has lots of energy and will need a home that has time to take him for walks, play with him, and preferably a fenced yard where he could run around and tire himself out. This happy-go-lucky boy should remain on a leash or in a fenced yard as he is a Beagle and will follow his nose if allowed. He loves toys but has gotten possessive over bones in the past, although he has shown no signs of resource guarding while in our care.

Chase LOVES people more than anything. If you sit on the ground he will try to climb in your lap, give you all the kisses and rub his head on yours. He is extremely affectionate and will show you how much he loves you. He lives for being pet and given attention. His new home should be prepared to have a 40+ lb. lapdog!

He has lived with men, women, children, and cats in the past. He has been dog tested and loved the dog he met here. A meet and greet is mandatory with an approved application. He has not been formally cat tested but if there is a cat in his potential home that will be done by staff.

Chase is the sweetest boy you’ll meet, and he’s here waiting to meet you!

Wish list: Pate canned cat and kitten wet food, martingale collars, hidey houses for shy cats, lick mats for the dogs and paper towel.
