Today we feature the lovely Tia as our pet of the week!

Tia has been in the care of HSHPE since October of last year. She was one of many cats removed from a home due to inadequate care. We didn’t know it right away but Tia was pregnant, and within a few weeks of being with us, she successfully birthed a single kitten.

They were placed in foster care for a few weeks with one of our dedicated foster volunteers, in an effort to better learn their personalities outside of a shelter environment. Tia has always been shy, which is understandable when you consider her history. She’s never had the chance to bond with a person or a family during her short life. We estimate Tia to be approx. 1.5 years. She is young and vibrant and we’re sure there is someone out there who will show her how beautiful life can be! She deserves a wonderful life, a life where she is loved and shown patience as she learns what it means to be a companion. Due to Tia’s past, a home free of other animals is where she will thrive.

She is looking for a home with older children (12+) or an adult-only home. Tia will form a very strong bond once she settles into her new home and has the opportunity to fall in love with her people. When Tia isn’t napping, she can be found making biscuits and purring from the comfort of her cat bed. She is a very sweet and playful girl, who loves exploring new toys and enrichment items. Slow and steady is the way to Tia’s heart. She is ready to show the world what a resilient and lovable girl she is.

Tia is ready to find her forever! She has been spayed and is up to date on her core vaccinations, rabies vaccine, flea treatment, and deworming. Included in Tia’s adoption fee is 4 weeks’ free trial pet insurance as well as some extras from our community partners!
