Nelson is an approximately 2 year old hound mix, who was brought to the Quinte Humane Society in December of 2017 as a stray and never claimed.

Since arriving at the shelter he has let his playful personality shine through, never passing up a moment that means he'd get to play with his toys! Nelson LOVES to go for walks but still requires additional leash training, as he is very strong and likes to pull.

Due to his unknown past history we do not know how Nelson would be around children or cats. He has reacted well with some dogs at the shelter trying to coax them to play with him.

Nelson has very high vocal activity and is not recommended in an apartment. However, he can more often than not be found snoozing happily on his bed here, quiet and happy.  He can sit and actually does it before even being verbally asked most of the time.  He is a very polite young gentleman and takes treats ever so gently!

Adoption fee: $400 includes spay/neuter, Bordetella vaccine, first vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment if it was necessary, microchip, six weeks of free trial pet insurance and a free checkup at a local participating vet. You may take him out for a walk and upon approved application, since he is not already fixed, and appointment will be made to be done.
