Tune into CJBQ 800 AM to listen live on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:25 AM for Featured Pets and other great information about QHS proudly sponsored by CJBQ, the station that cares about community!
Oscar came to QHS in April as a stray, after he joined a colony of barn cats in a rural community. Oscar was thin and very stiff walking. It turns out he had an old injury to his pelvis. He has been examined by a vet, and he does not seem to be at all bothered by it, he gets around just like a normal cat now. Oscar is a 5-year-old neutered male, blue tabby. We do not know Oscar’s history, but we do know that he can be skittish and afraid of loud noises, so he is best suited to a home that is adults only. He will take some time to settle in to his new environment and is going to need a patient new family who understands that.
Oscar doesn’t have a care in the world about other cats. He would be fine living with another feline friend and it may even help him with adjusting to life as an indoor kitty. Kennel staff think he would be fine with an older, laid back and quiet small dog. Oscar loves having a hidey bed to lounge in and is obsessed with his camo blanket. He also enjoys having access to a scratching board. Oscar is still getting used to being an indoor cat and not having to fend for himself. He does not like to be picked up and held, but will sit on your lap at ground level. If you would like to meet our sweet Oscar, stop by the shelter at 527 Avonlough Road, Belleville.
