Salem came into our care when her home became too stressful for her. Because of this, this sweet independent girl is looking for a quiet cat-savvy home to settle into. Her new furever home must be childfree, as this causes her stress. She is on a C/D stress dry food diet. Salem will come to you for attention when she is ready, and enjoys forehead scratches and will give kisses in return. She does not like to be picked up. Salem is very playful and cannot resist jingle balls and catnip! She may settle with a respectful canine companion or a super laid-back feline friend, but a proper introduction will be the key to a lasting friendship for Salem.

Salem has recently spent some time in a foster home in an effort to get to know her personality outside of a shelter environment.

A few notes from her doting foster mom-

"There’s a really sweet little girl here who is asking about her forever home. She has worked through all of her issues and is a playful, happy and content kitty who just loves to chat & cuddle and give kisses in return! 

She likes to have the radio playing low and often snuggles up beside it at nap time.

Her idea of a fun way to get the human’s attention is to play-attack a passing foot.  She knows she’s naughty when she does this and usually flips onto her back asking for a belly rub!  She’s had great success with this maneuver around here.

She has met our dog many times through a glass door and she does not seem overly enthused nor does she react negatively.  She looks at her, watches her for a time and then turns away."
