Scooter

Scooter is a 5-year-old blue & white neutered male. He was surrendered to us almost 3 months ago. Staff quickly noticed something wasn’t quite right with Scooter and we soon found out he was diabetic. Since his diagnosis, he has been living in foster care, and recently was joined by another diabetic kitty. With a proper introduction, he is getting along well with her. He does prefer another older, laid back cat like himself. Scooter’s diabetes is being managed by 2 unit of insulin, given twice/day. He is great for getting his injections and having his sugars tested. He is eating the diabetic management food, both wet and dry. He gets wet food 3 times a day, and dry food twice. He really loves his food! Scooter has been declawed on his front paws. He can be an affectionate guy, but prefers to come to you on his terms versus being picked up. Scooter LOVES to play! He loves cat tunnels and rattling mice. His ideal home would be in a low stress home, with someone who knows how to manage a diabetic cat, or even someone with diabetes themselves. If you would like to meet Scooter, please contact the shelter via phone or email, and a meeting can be arranged.
