Stewie is a 7-year-old Chihuahua & Dachshund mix. He is an unaltered male. Stewie has been with us for about a month as it did take him some time to get settled in and get used to the new people here. He needs to take some time to get to know you, and his new family may need a few visits to get to know him too. Stewie is house trained but could use some reinforcement on that, as he does still have accidents. He has been crate trained as well. He likes to go on walks, but needs to stay on a leash, as he will take off when loose. Stewie has not had any formal training, which is not uncommon for little dogs, but it’s never too late to teach an old dog new tricks. He would prefer to be the only dog in the home, as he can be a bit possessive over his food and toys. He has lived with cats, but we would want to test him here as well to see how he is. Stewie lived with older children, and would be fine with older kids who knew how to live with a small dog. He cannot be adopted into a home with small children as he is a small, senior who would prefer a quieter home. If you think that your home would be a good fit for Stewie, drop into the shelter to meet him.

Adoption fee: $400.00 incl. spay/neuter, microchip, 1st vaccination, bordetella vaccination, 1st deworming, flea treatment (if necessary), four weeks free pet insurance and a free vet exam.
