If you’ve been thinking about adding a canine to your home, now is the perfect time to consider adopting from a shelter! The dogs in our care come to us in a variety of ways, and for various reasons, but they all share a common goal– to find their furever family! If they are stray, we hold them for 5 days to ensure they’ll be reunited with their family. After the mandatory stray hold, the animal is ready to take their next step, onto our adoption floor! Heatstroke Awareness Warning signs of heatstroke: Is the dog panting heavily? Is the dog drooling excessively? Does the dog appear lethargic, drowsy, or uncoordinated? Is the dog collapsed or vomiting? What is heatstroke? If dogs are too hot and are unable to reduce their body temperature by panting, they will develop heatstroke which can kill. If a dog is displaying any signs of heatstroke, move them to a cool, shaded area and call a vet immediately.
